Building Skills That Save Lives: AHA-Certified Medical Training for Boise’s Film Community
At Different Animals, one of our core goals is to provide meaningful education and resources to help strengthen the film community here in Boise. Last month, we took that commitment a step further by hosting an American Heart Association-certified medical training workshop specifically for local filmmakers and production crew.
Led by registered nurse and EMT Mary Putnam alongside Meridian Firefighter Moh Boukharsa, the five-hour course focused on practical emergency care skills tailored to the unique demands of working on set. From CPR to handling medical emergencies in remote environments, participants gained hands-on experience and life-saving knowledge they can carry with them on any shoot.
Every participant walked away with an official AHA certification, and more importantly, the confidence to act when it matters most. It was an informative, engaging, and fun evening of learning, and we’re proud to continue creating opportunities that support both the safety and professional development of our creative community.
Stay tuned for more workshops and educational events from Different Animals.
